Head to Patagonia, learn Spanish, live like a local and volunteer in a local Chilean school.

This Chile project is one of Oyster's longest running programs and we are proud to have sent many volunteers to this beautiful and friendly part of the world.

This project is based in Coyhaique, known as the 'gateway to Patagonia'. Surrounded by awe-inspiring mountains and stunning scenery, this project is perfect for lovers of the great outdoors.

On arrival, you will stay with other volunteers for the first 3 days. You will take part in local activities, such as rafting and cooking. This will give you time to settle in to life in Chile, before moving in with your host family. The relationships that volunteers form with their families is often the highlight of their trip.

The main role of a volunteer is to work in a local school as an assistant, helping to support teachers in English lessons. If you feel confident, you can even take your own classes, but always with support. Chilean people are very welcoming and the children are always excited to meet people from different parts of the world.
