Description

Lima, the capital of Peru, is located on the west coast of the southern Pacific Ocean, along the outlet of the Rímac River. Lima is full of fascinating contrasts between traditional and modern influences. The traditional influences evolved from Peru's history as the home of the Inca and numerous other civilized cultures, dating back as far as 2000 BC. Indigenous cultural traditions and languages still thrive today in Peru. Lima is known for its delectable gastronomy, interesting museums, colonial churches, vibrant cafe scene, striking architecture and genuinely friendly people.
