In Summer, Hokkaido is the best location to study Japanese and enjoy activities with Japanese people. Our small number Japanese class help your Japanese learning with trips and opportunities to practice your language skills in real life situations!

Hokkaido JaLS takes our standard 15 Japanese lessons per week and add two traditional culture experiences per week for six weeks. Our students have the chance to experience a variety of Japanese culture, such as trying on kimono, making sushi, and tea ceremonies. Japanese volunteers participate in many of these events, giving students the opportunity to improve their Japanese in a setting other than the classroom and to make friends and experience Japan from the inside, not just as a tourist.

Students also have the opportunity to attend our three weekly optional activities to enjoy all that Hokkaido has to offer, such as rafting in the summer.

1. Small Classes - there are a maximum of 6 students per class, which guarantees the best quality, lots of personal attention, and many chances to practice speaking Japanese.

2. Competitive Prices - courses start at less than 160 USD per week, which makes us one of the cheapest language schools in Japan, while still maintaining a high standard of teaching.

3. Flexibility - students can join our course every Monday, and after arriving at the school there are plenty of opportunities to add courses or join activities.

4. Local Volunteers - not only do our teachers and employees provide a homely atmosphere, we also invite many Japanese volunteers to join our activities; in this way our students can make friends with locals and practice their Japanese outside of the classroom.

5. Amazing Location - Hokkaido, Japans second largest island, is justifiably famous for its food, nature, and friendly, laid-back people. Enjoy the snow in winter, escape the heat in summer, experience vibrant Sapporo with its many festivals such as the famous Sapporo Snow Festival.
