Located in the vibrant, academically diverse Faculty of Humanities at the University of Cape Town, the UCT English Language Centre (ELC) has a wide range of quality English courses to meet your needs, including conversational English, business English, and preparation courses for the IELTS, TOEFL, FCE or CAE exams.

The University welcomes over 4500 international students every year, and as a UCT student, you will be able to participate in university life and culture and to take part in social activities, sports clubs and other societies.

General English is available for 20-hours per week (standard package), 25 hours per week (semi intensive package) and 30 hours per week (intensive package).

Students may start a general English/ IELTS exam preparation course on any Monday and study for a many weeks or months as they wish. CAE/FCE courses have fixed start and end dates.
