Attend Spanish language and culture classes, which are based on conversations, at the Universidad de Cuenca in Ecuador. Stay in a centrally located, modern homestay and join the El Nomad community for cultural activities and guided excursions each week.

El Nomad Study Abroad Programs offers a four-week summer language and culture course suitable for students of all Spanish language abilities. Components include Spanish grammar, composition, conversation, and Latin American culture. Program duration and features are customizable to cater to your specific needs and preferences. You’ll undergo a placement examination upon arrival.


1. Explore Ecuador and join guided excursions to the Cajas National Park and Ingapirca Ruins.

2. Join free cultural activities during the course.

3. Live like a local and be fully immersed in Ecuadorian culture and Spanish language.

* Transportation from Guayaquil or Quito to Cuenca upon arrival and prior to departure (either flight or van, depending on where you fly in to)
* Night in hostel in Guayaquil or Quito upon arrival and prior to departure (if needed)
* Transfers to/from the airport in Cuenca to El Nomad office upon arrival and departure
* On-site orientation with city tour and welcome meal
* Homestay with local family and 3 meals per day for duration of program
* Spanish classes at the University of Cuenca (transcript provided upon completion
