Located at the tip of South America, Argentina is the 2nd largest country in Latin America. It is famous for its European-inspired cities, tourist sites, and gastronomy. The worst collapse of the Argentine economy occurred in 2001, but since this time the country has experienced growth across sectors of society. Because of this history of economic challenges throughout the country, many citizens lost health insurance and jobs. Since this time there has been much progress in offering support and care to these individuals without insurance through hospitals, clinics, and a larger decentralized set of organizations.

Argentines have gotten greater access to quality services through an increase of funding and attention on the public healthcare system, thanks to a public policy shift in the country over the last 10 years. Participants on this program will spend time at different hospitals and clinics in Cordoba, Argentinas second largest city. Volunteers will learn about what it takes to provide care to a population that lacks health insurance, including efforts by the government and local institutions.
