Interested in learning the Chinese language, from beginner to intermediate levels, and want a real cultural immersion course? CCIS - Summer in Shanghai offers just that. Students will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive cultural and linguistic immersion in the Chinese language and culture by attending class at Shanghai University, the largest university in the city.
Program faculty and staff will give students exposure to Chinese culture and business through a program filled with field trips and cultural excursions in order to gain a better understanding of the thriving metropolis of Shanghai. Students may opt to take one or two courses during the four-week summer session. Course offerings include Business in Contemporary China, Intensive, Beginners or Intermediate Chinese, and Survival Chinese. No Chinese language ability is required.
Highlights
1. Students will focus on beginning or intermediate levels of the Mandarin Chinese language, taught with small class sizes.
2. An option to take a business course in order to learn about Chinese practices and customs.
3. Attend classes at Shanghai University, one of the most prestigious universities in all of China, and the first national universities to open its doors to receiving groups of international students.
4. Live on campus in a residence hall in a single room.
5. Get to know the local and international students by attending cultural excursions.
