The Boston University Rabat Arabic Studies Program offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Arabic language and Arab culture by learning and living in Rabat, the cosmopolitan capital city of Morocco. In this program, students will study Arabic language and, through coursework, internships, homestays, and excursions, examine the history, politics, and religion of the ever-changing region of the Middle East and North Africa. This experience is highlighted by an all-inclusive, week-long adventure through Morocco, visiting exciting destinations such as Marrakesh, Fez, and the ERg Lihoudl Desert. Upon completion of the program, students receive 16 Boston University credits.

Students register for two intensive language courses (four credits) offered at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Participants are placed into language courses based on in-country oral proficiency interviews, written exams, and previous coursework. In addition, students register for two four-credit electives, which are taught in English.
